As a Fortville family photographer, I can’t stress enough how important it is to document your relationship with your pet, especially as they get older. Our pets are family, and their time with us is far too short. Capturing those sweet snuggles, the way they still play (even if they’re a little slower), and the deep connection you share is something you will cherish forever.
These photos aren’t just about showing what their family looks like right now; they are about preserving the memory of a faithful companion. When the day comes that he is no longer with them, they will have these stunning, tangible reminders of the joy he brought to their lives.
We often think of family photography as centered around milestones: the new baby, the first birthday, or the changing annual Christmas card. But sometimes, the most important moments to capture are the quiet ones that define our current “season” of life.
Recently, I had the honor of photographing my brother and sister-in-law (and my very first “fur-niece” or “nephew”!) in a stunning fielded location up in Fortville, Indiana.
This session was so incredibly special. They don’t have children yet, and their dog is their baby. Lately, they had noticed that their beloved pup was starting to look older—those white hairs around the muzzle were becoming more prominent, they wanted to freeze this moment in time.
